UFBRT: Falling (Quick Hit!)

Not a lot of time lately with the 6-day, 50-hour work weeks. But here’s a quick video I threw together just to stay frosty.

UFBRT: Carson City (Episode 19)

I know it’s been a while, but here’s a new video for you to enjoy. Maybe it can fill the void left by the end of LOST. I just wrapped up my week of sobbing quietly in my bed.

It’s better than Aladdin IV: The Genie Kills Everything.

This is the last bit of info about this, I swear. It’s just that I plan on reviewing the game soon so I might as well give people some tips on how to put it together.

UFBRT: Taj Mahal (Episode 17)

I’ve got that 18AL thing coming shortly. I just finished putting it together last night. The game, that is.

In the meantime, though – enjoy!

It is the year 18AL. Robots… haven't been invented yet.

On the DIY tip: I’ve printed up some materials to make an 18AL set. I’ve made one before but I wasn’t super happy with it and so I traded it away. I’ve now gotten around to putting another set together because this game is rad. Once I’m done with my Taj Mahal video I think I’ll make one covering this game even though it’s not really published by anyone. But maybe it’ll get people pumped for the 1830 reprint rumored to be coming out by Mayfair at some point.

The point here is that I’ll take some pictures while assembling it in case you’re not tired of me blabbering on and on about this kind of thing already.

You have new messages at your private terminal, Shepard.

I just thought I’d drop in and tell everyone how much I’m really digging Mass Effect 2. I would highly recommend anyone that has even a slight interest in space opera to play through both games if you haven’t yet done so. Yeah, I know that the first one has all that driving around and stuff. If I remember, though, it’s not super difficult to power through with minimal sub-quests if you don’t care about achievements.

But when it comes to the background of the universe, you should take your time. Read about all the different races and planets. Really get to know the world that Bioware has created for us to fly around in. Then come back and know what the hell I’m talking about when I say that the advertisement on Ilium for a movie about the galaxy’s first hanar Spectre makes me chuckle every time.

And don’t delete your Mass Effect 1 save file like I did way back when. You’ll regret it.

All this text for one guy.

OK, this is for you, Grady. These instructions will make one side of the actual board. Do it twice to make both halves.

As you may have seen in my Summoner Wars review, I suggested that owners of the game may want to take matters into their own hands and make their own custom board. It’s not nearly as difficult as you’d think. For a quick overview, get some Avery full-sheet labels, some illustration board from a place like Aaron Brothers, a straight edge, a utility knife, a file with the Summoner Wars map and some kind of tiling program to chop that file up. I used Govert’s PDF Tiler.

Here’s a shot. Post in the comments if you want me to go over how I did it in a bit more detail, though BoardGameGeek has some pretty good resources.

My DIY Summoner Wars board. Is it not nifty?
